Crispy Garlic-Parmesan Buffalo Wings 🍗✨
Ingredients:
For the wings:
- 2 lbs chicken wings, split into drumettes and flats
- 1 tbsp baking powder (not baking soda)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
For the sauce:
- ½ cup hot sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
For garnish:
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Extra grated Parmesan
Instructions:
Prepare the wings:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture (this helps them get crispy).
- In a large bowl, toss the wings with baking powder, salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika.
Bake the wings:
- Arrange the wings on the wire rack in a single layer.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
Make the sauce:
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the hot sauce, honey, and Parmesan cheese. Mix well and simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Toss the wings:
- Transfer the baked wings to a large bowl. Pour the sauce over the wings and toss until evenly coated.
Serve:
- Arrange the wings on a serving platter. Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese. Serve hot with celery sticks and your favorite dipping sauce (e.g., ranch or blue cheese).
Optional Variations:
- Spicy Kick: Add 1 tsp cayenne pepper or a dash of sriracha to the sauce for extra heat.
- Sweet Twist: Mix in 1 tbsp brown sugar with the sauce for a sweet and spicy balance.
- Air Fryer Option: Cook the wings in an air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, shaking halfway through.
