Korean-Style Loaded Hot Dog 🌭✨
Ingredients:
For the hot dogs:
- 4 beef or pork hot dog sausages
- 4 hot dog buns, toasted
For the toppings:
- 1 cup kimchi, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp honey
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions:
Cook the hot dogs:
- Grill: Preheat your grill to medium heat. Grill the sausages for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until heated through and slightly charred.
- Stovetop: Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the sausages, turning occasionally, for about 5 minutes.
Prepare the buns:
- Lightly toast the hot dog buns on the grill or under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until golden.
Prepare the toppings:
- In a small bowl, mix gochujang, mayonnaise, and honey to create a spicy-sweet sauce.
- Heat the chopped kimchi in a skillet for 2-3 minutes until warm.
Assemble the hot dogs:
- Place a cooked sausage in each toasted bun.
- Spoon the warmed kimchi over the sausage.
- Drizzle the gochujang-mayo sauce on top.
- Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese and lightly broil for 1-2 minutes to melt the cheese (optional).
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
Serve:
- Serve immediately with a side of crispy fries or a simple salad.
